Class for design with digital media
Students at the design department of the University of Arts Berlin choose a specialized direction, a "class" during their basic studies. The wide-ranging offer contains among others the class for design with digital media of Professor Joachim Sauter. Even though this section is part of "Visual Communication" students of this group gain insights in related areas of product design, architecture and other disciplines.
Basic and main course
The students first attend a intense basic course for two semesters in a small group of about 5-10 participants. Following they join the group of the "main course" consisting of about 30 participants and work on their own project each semester. This "learning by doing" is accompanied by project discussions in the group and lectures. I was teaching the introduction course of this class and later took part in teaching in the main course.
