Physical computing
Mouse and keyboard do not always serve as the optimal interface between humans and virtual worlds. Especially the idea of the human body as carrier of knowledge forces designers to explore those interfaces between humans and computers not only virtually but also physically.
Soldering
In the summer semester 2004 our students designed interactions with objects using simple electronics. This step from purely visual interaces to the design of objects offered designers who work otherwise primarily in the field of visual design the opportunity to expand their understanding of product design.
